Hans Thoenen has passed away

It is with deep regret that we have learned of the death of a former colleague from the Biozentrum, Emeritus Prof. Dr. Hans Thoenen, at the age of 84 years.

Hans Thoenen, who was Director of the Max Planck Institute for Neurobiology in Martinsried, Germany, in his last position before retirement, made a significant contribution to the scientific reputation of the Biozentrum, as Head of the Neurobiology Research Group, from 1972 to 1977. He was an outstanding neurobiologist, whose achievements have been honored with numerous awards and distinctions.
