Overview
All about communication
The Communications Department of the Biozentrum supports, coordinates and promotes communication both within the Biozentrum and with respect to the media, the economy, politics and the general public.
The word "communication" comes from the Latin communicare, which means "to share, impart, participate, join with or unite" (Wikipedia). Our communications aim to achieve all of these with various offers and measures.
Sharing – we share the complex information and fascination of biology with the media, economists, politicians and the general public, as well as with all those working at the Biozentrum itself.
Imparting – we supply news about research at the Biozentrum via our website, regular news and press releases, our online event agenda, various publications and by personal communication.
Participating – we enable the media, economists, politicians and the general public to participate in life at the Biozentrum through information sessions and events such as open days, the Biozentrum symposia, information days for high school leavers, the National Day for the Future, and many others.
Joining with – people working at the Biozentrum join together with the University of Basel for events such as the Café Scientifique, the Children's University, the UniNight, the theatrical simulation of scientific theory in the "Zuckerwelten" productions and the Genetic Research Days program.
Uniting – we unite the communication needs of various target groups and want to strengthen communication at the Biozentrum by close collaboration.
