Biozentrum Alumni members can take advantage of the offers and services provided by both the Biozentrum and the parent organization AlumniBasel. This is because members of the Biozentrum Alumni automatically also become AlumniBasel members.
The central goal of the Biozentrum Alumni is the promotion of a worldwide network of former students, PhDs, postdocs, professor, scientific staff and non-academic employees. Two online platforms are available to members for this purpose:
With its Alumninews, the Biozentrum aims to share its current life with former employees and students. It reports about the retirement of professors, new appointments, new publications, awards, honors and much more and also highlights the career developments of various alumni presenting two portraits in every issue. The ALUMNInews are published in English twice a year.
In the online Who-is-who, the directory of the AlumniBasel, one can search for graduates based on the criteria "Family name", "First name", "Diploma type", "Major", "Year of completion" and "Membership" (AND linked search criteria). Access is password protected. Online Who-is-who
Members of AlumniBasel will receive an email forwarding address. This address is based on the principle: Anna.Muster (at) alumnibasel.ch This unchanging forwarding address serves as a bridge, forwarding emails to the changing private or business email addresses of the members. One advantage of this, is that the individual private or business addresses do not need to be made generally available and also that in the case of a change in provider, one need only register the change in one’s own user profile once.
Whether one would like to contact a media specialist, a journalist, a film producer or a professional fundraiser, or someone who speaks fluent Chinese, a literature fan or a climbing freak, in the AlumniBasel there are many interesting contacts waiting to be discovered! More
From the vast array of events at the University of Basel, AlumniBasel chooses those that could be of interest to the alumni and informs members via an electronic newsletter.
