General Information

The conference takes place between June 10th -June 14th 2018 at the Congressi Stefano Franscini (CSF), the conference center of ETH Zurich, located at Monte Verità, Ascona, Switzerland. The conference facilities, the restaurant and the bar are located in the main building called Bauhaus Building. The closest train station is in Locarno. 

Shuttle transfers from/to Locarno train station June 10th and June 14th

The conference center is providing a shuttle service between Locarno train station and Monte Verità on the first and last day of the conference. For the shuttle and public transport location see map below.

June 10th, departures from Locarno train station: 13:00, 13:40, 14:00, 14:20, 14:40, 15:00, 15:20, 15:40, 16:20
June 14th, departures from Monte Verità: 8:00, 8:40, 9:20, 10:00, 10:40, 11:20

We are looking at increasing the frequency of shuttles to one every 20min.

Public transportation

Outside of shuttle hours, regular bus service (BUXI) is available between Locarno and Monte Verità via Ascona town center: line 1 then line 5. Please refer to the map below to see the location of the Bus stop

Conference rooms

All lectures will take place in the Auditorium on the ground floor of the Bauhaus Building.

All posters will be displayed from Monday to Wednesday in the Balint Room, on the first floor of the Bauhaus Building. We kindly ask you to take your poster with you when you leave. Posters left in the room after Thursday will be discarded.

There is a free wireless network at Monte Verità in common spaces as well as in the bedrooms. Information on how to connect to the wireless network will be given to you at registration (password, settings, etc.).

Oral Presentations

Lectures are presented as power point files on either a Windows or a Mac computer. The beamer has an additional third channel, so the use of own computers is possible, but compatibility with the video system should be tested ahead of time. Members of the organizing committee will be available to assist you in uploading and testing your presentation. All speakers are kindly requested to stay within their time slot indicated in the program. Chairpersons will control that speakers keep their time.

Poster Presentations

Poster boards are 180 cm (width) x 120 cm (height) and fit 2 posters. The maximum poster size allowed is A0, portrait orientation.

There are two Poster Sessions:

#1 Monday June 11th from 14.00 to 16.15.
Authors from posters with an odd number should stay by their poster.

#2 Wednesday June 13th from 14.00 to 16.15.
Authors from posters with an even number should stay by their poster.

Spontaneous discussions in the poster room can occur at any time (in breaks, after lunch, in the evening).
