Amazon Genomics CLI - Simplifying Genomics Workflows on AWS Cloud

Genomics researchers commonly use workflow definition languages and engines to develop reproducible analysis workflows. Due to the size of genomics files and the highly variable resource requirements of the various steps of the workflows, researchers frequently desire to deploy them in the cloud. Unfortunately, assembling a scalable, secure and fault tolerant cloud infrastructure requires a specialized skill set that is uncommon and not related to genomics. To help researchers simplify the process of rapidly deploying a suitable cloud compute environment and running their workflows we developed and open-sourced the Amazon Genomics CLI. This presentation will show how, with a few simple commands, a user can rapidly begin analysis in the cloud while being confident of following AWS best practices.
