Apply now! NCCR AntiResist PhD Fellowships

NCCR AntiResist announces the opening of its first Fellowship Call. The PhD Fellowships in Antibiotic Discovery are awarded to highly ambitious and talented students and enables them to pursue their PhD studies in the vibrant and multidisciplinary community of NCCR AntiResist. The application deadline for the fellowship call 2022 is March 1, 2022.

“We are offering an entirely new educational platform for students interested in infection biology and antibiotic research that merges essential training and skill sets from different disciplines to educate future scientists and leaders in this field,” says Prof. Christoph Dehio, Director of the NCCR AntiResist.

The National Center of Competence in Research (NCCR) AntiResist is a Swiss-wide research consortium funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). AntiResist aims to tackle the global spread of antibiotic resistance, a problem of strategic and international importance. To reach this goal, AntiResist has assembled a panel of experts in the fields of clinical research, infection biology, chemistry, computation, engineering and pharmacology.

NCCR AntiResist aims to train the next generation of researchers and clinicians in infectious diseases using novel interdisciplinary approaches. For this aim, NCCR AntiResist awards unique Fellowships in Antibiotic Discovery.

The NCCR AntiResist PhD Fellowships are unique in that they provide successful applicants with the opportunity to pursue their PhD within the Swiss-wide, multidisciplinary environment of the NCCR AntiResist consortium. Collaboration between the three major research fields of the NCCR AntiResist (clinical research, engineering and microbiology) is strengthened through a rotation-based selection of their research group of choice. Fellows will be part of a vibrant community of PhD students with educational benefits ranging from cross-disciplinary research projects and tutoring to hands-on teaching in state-of-the art technology and joint summer schools.
