D3: Molecular and Cellular Structural Biology II – 17001
(2 hrs/week; 2 CP; Fall 2028)
Sebastian Hiller, Timm Maier
Structural Biology Across Scales - This course will provide an overview of integrative structural approaches that bridge size scales from atoms to cells. Topics include high-resolution structure determination by techniques such as cryo-electron microscopy, resolving molecular structures within the cellular context with cryo-electron tomography, applications of AI-based structure prediction, NMR spectroscopy, structural proteomics and interactomics, whole-cell 3D imaging with volume electron microscopy and superresolution light microscopy, and computational modeling that integrates diverse structural data.
