Thermo Fisher Scientific Aquilos 2 Cryo-FIB
Configuration
The Aquilos 2 cryo-FIB is the latest generation cryo-DualBeam instrument with enhanced anti-contamination hardware for improved cryo-sample protection and minimal ice contamination.
Specifically designed for use within the cryo-tomography workflow. Designed to produce electron-transparent cryo-lamellas for subsequent high-resolution cryo electron microscopy.
Fitted with an integrated iFLM correlative fluorescence light microscope which allows targeting of fluorescently labelled cells for lamella production. This offers increased throughput and specificity and can reduce the number of sample transfer steps to limit ice contamination.
Application
High-end sample preparation platform for cryo-lamella workflow production for subsequent cryo-electron microscopy imaging and tomography. Samples can be produced under optimal cryo conditions to preserve details at the molecular level in their close to native state.
