Assistant Project Coordinator – Biozentrum PhD Fellowships – PhD Student Office (80% - 100%)

as per 1.1.2026 or upon agreement

The Biozentrum of the University of Basel is one of the leading life sciences institutes in the world. It consists of 32 groups and 500 employees that research how molecules and cells create life, spanning the scale from atom to organism. Founded in 1971, the Biozentrum has been the birthplace of many fundamental discoveries in biology and medicine, spawning several Nobel Laureates.

The PhD Student Office is the central point of contact for our international PhD community, which includes around 140 researchers. We advise and support PhD students in all administrative matters, guiding them from the start of their doctorate through to completion. In addition, we organize the Biozentrum PhD Fellowship recruitments (summer and winter) and work closely with the Biozentrum group leaders to maintain and further develop the high-quality standards of our PhD program.

Do you bring a precise, well-structured, and forward-thinking approach to your work, while enjoying the challenge of learning and mastering new tasks? Are you creative, curious, and motivated to optimize, develop, and implement new ideas? If so, you are the personality we are looking for.

You have completed a commercial training and bring several years of professional experience, ideally within the higher education sector. You are fluent and confident in both written and spoken English and German.
