1993 - 2007 | Professor of Biophysical Chemistry
Thomas Kiefhaber studied and graduated with a doctorate at the Universities of Regensburg and Bayreuth in the field of biophysics. From 1991 until 1993 he worked in research as a postdoc at Stanford University, USA. In 1993 Kiefhaber took on the position of research group leader and assistant professor at the Biozentrum of the University of Basel and completed his habilitation in 1995. He conducted research in the kinetics and thermodynamics of protein folding and became a full professor in 2006. From 2007 to 2014 Thomas Kiefhaber successfully continued his research on protein folding and dynamics at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Technical University of Munich. Since May 2014 he carries out research at the Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology at the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg as a professor of protein biochemistry.
