Prof. Dr. Thomas Mrsic-Flogel
2013 − 2018 I Professor of Neurobiology
Thomas Mrsic-Flogel studied biology and neuroscience at the University of Oxford, where he completed his PhD at the Department of Physiology. He then moved to the Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology in Martinsried as postdoctoral fellow. From 2007 until 2013, Mrsic-Flogel led his own research group at University College London (UCL). Subsequently, he was appointed Associate Professor of Neuroscience at the Biozentrum, University of Basel. In 2018, he left to take on the position of Director of the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre for Neural Circuits and Behaviour at UCL. In his research, Mrsic-Flogel aims to understand how the brain processes sensory stimuli and how this depends on the structure of neuronal networks. Website
