How to follow your passion for science while living with cerebral palsy
Dr. Ilya Smolensky graduated from Saint Petersburg State University, PhD at the I. M. Sechenov Institute of Evolutionary Physiology and Biochemistry. Now he is doing A Post-Doc in DBM, University of Basel, where he studies the Molecular Mechanisms of Depression and how models such as mice and rats can help us translate our findings to human beings. Ilya also lives with Cerebral Palsy, which had an impact on his education and career path.
You will find an article and a link to his website to help you understand Ilya better before the interview and to prepare questions you might have. In case you have burning questions for him, you can also send us an email and we will try to compile and ask them to Ilya during the interview.
With this first session, the PANORAMA team wants to put Diversity and Psychology at the front stage. We would like to welcome all of you to this event, which will start on the 19th March at 18:00 / 6.00 pm at the ground floor of the new BSS building (Schanzenstrasse 44, Basel), in room E27. We will have a 1h interview with Ilya followed by a rich Q&A session (questions will be voted up during the meeting) and a casual Apero where you can discuss more with Ilya and the rest of the audience.
